WakeMed Key Community Care is an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) that was formed by WakeMed Health & Hospitals and Key Physicians to provide the Triangle community with high quality, coordinated care. WKCC has grown rapidly and is now accountable for 200,000 commercial lives in our region. WKCC identified a need to create a High Value Specialist (HVS) collaboration due to rising health costs and the need to enhance the coordination of care between specialists and primary care physicians (PCPs) to improve quality and beneficiary satisfaction, and to control costs by reducing duplicative services.
